Bachelor’s thesis "Equal Opportunities in Construction Engineering" deals with gender equality of employment opportunities, work-life balance, alternative employment and employment of graduates. Basic terms are introduced in the theoretical part. Based on the hypotheses carried out questionnaire survey is evaluated in the practical part. According to the evaluation of the investigation, steps are proposed to improve equal opportunities in construction companies.

The specific problems of women in this company’s management are characterized on a basis of a survey. At the end of this thesis there are practical suggestions regarding how women can assert themselves on managerial positions with possible contribution to the company.

The thesis deals with work of manager and the application of equal opportunities in the construction company. The aim of the thesis is to explore the situation in construction companies and comparison of theory with practise. The theoretical part introduces the basic terms and theories related to the topic. Based on a questionnaire survey, the practical part assesses the current situation in construction companies. In the end of the thesis is an evaluation theoretical and practical part, in order recommend prospective changes and conclusion of the thesis.

This thesis focuses on gender issues in management. The emphasis is puting on role of gender in management, on differences in harmonization of the working and family life for men and women and with respekt to difficult situations in career building for women, especially in matters of competence for the performance of this office. The thesis further focuses on the issues of equal opportunities for men and women to build their own career, gender inequalities and problems in relationships of families, households and careers. Part of the thesis also describes the public opinions on gender issues in management. The last chapter introduces the issue of managers free time. The diploma thesis analyses local authorities taking part in the competition The Authority of the Year:"Half to Half" - Respect for Equal Opportunities. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the progress, regress or stagnation of the selected local authorities with respect to gender equality. The thesis also carries out a more in-depth analysis of the current state of gender equality promotion by local authorities. The theoretical part introduces the background of promoting gender equality. Attention is paid to the strategy of gender mainstreaming and to how gender equality is connected to public administration. The research aims to analyse the development of local authorities in their promotion of gender equality, and it also provides conclusions and recommendations based on this analysis. The master thesis "Czech women on their way to emancipation" is dealing with the changes of Czech society which took place during the 19th and 20th century and which are influencing the contemporary Czech society until today. This thesis is putting contemporary gender - topics in connection with political background, equal possibilities of men and women in the public and in the private sphere of life. The work is dealing with three main topics. The first is speaking about the historical development and traditional opinions on the role of women and men. The second topic is focussed on the period of the Czechoslovak socialist state and the third part is focussed on the Czech society of today.
Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment

The thesis "Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment"focuses on the discrimination problem of persons over 50 years of age when they look for a job. The discrimination is one of the factors that prevent older persons from entering the labor market, which affects not only those persons but the whole society as well. At first, the thesis determines the theoretical concepts, which it comes from. Those concepts go through the whole thesis. Further on, it outlines a brief survey of national and European legal norms that deal with the given problem. It also introduces institutions that manage the problem and that we can contact in case of encounter with discrimination. In the next part, the thesis focuses on the negative aspects of discrimination and on the occurrence frequency of discrimination itself in the Czech Republic, particularly in the job advertisements and during job interviews. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the discrimination of person over 50 in the district of Teplice, both from the point of view of the unemployed persons and the employees of the Labor Office. The final part identifies main fields of problems, which it propose possible solutions for.
Gender inequalities in the Czech labour market from the perspective of women in managerial positions - a case study

This bachelor thesis deals with gender inequalities in the Czech labour market. More specifically, it focuses on women in managerial positions and tries to find out from what perspective we should look at the issue. The choice of this specific group of women is as follows because they are the ones who have gone through the entire career process to the highest management positions. An important partial objective is the related factors that can influence the participation of women in the labour market. The bachelor thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is theoretical and concerns the issue of vertical gender segregation. It introduces the basic concepts, substantial statistics, and previous research on the subject. The second part outlines the basic and partial aims of the bachelor thesis and related research questions. The third part deals with methodology and method of data analysis. It also contains individual stories of respondents. This is the last practical part that focuses on specific results and findings. These are interpreted in connection with the theoretical anchor and extend the previous research on the subject.
